• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear tire question

Dutch Spyder

New member
Hello!

I have a 2010 spyder rs, and thought about changing my rear tire for a toyo R888 tire.
Has anybody put this tire on a Spyder?

I've had good luck with the Toyo TR1 and the Proxess. The R888 is a soft racing tire, you would be lucky to get 5000 miles.

From those last couple of comments sounds like the sort of tire I need as I keep sliding the backend with the standard tire:-)

If your going to do it, skip the R888 and go with the RA1. It's about the same price and is a grippier tire that wears "better".

The thing to be careful with on these tires is obviously rain, which really isn't all that worse. But more importantly, temperature. The tires don't grip well cold at all.

WEAR RATING

your TOYO r888 has a 'wear rating' UTQG of 100 AA A verses my KUMHO AST with a UTQG of 400 A A...
i got 25,000 miles out of my last KUMHO, and it's got all the grip i'll ever need...
may i ask: how much was the TOYO...? my KUMHO was $81...

TOYO is a gr8 look'n meat-ball... i luv it...
