Rear Tire life observation

I replaced my rear tire on the 2012 RT Limited with a new Kenda when it was down to the wear bars at 12,132 miles. That tire was always run at 26 psi and spent about half of it's life with an RT 622 trailer behind it.

The RT now has 22,860 miles on it and has been run with just a bit more pressure @ 28 psi and roughly the same amount of trailer use but it appears to have use for at least another 5,000 miles or more before it gets to the wear bars.

This is just an observation but maybe the extra couple of pounds pressure is the difference or maybe the newer Kenda has better quality construction than the original.

As I see it..!!

I just installed a new Kenda on our RS. The last one got us 19,500 miles. Most two up but no trailer. I think the one that came on the roadster was a sample. Much less meat on the bone. Like so many things you buy come with samples so you can try it then go out and buy the real thing. Tires have lots...they have different suppliers of raw materials so batches can differ. Time will tell....lets see what we get second time around...:thumbup:

Mine has averaged 11,000 each on the first 2 kendas. My last one had more miles in it but wanted new rubber before trips this summer. If I can get 13,000 or so I am o.k. with it.

I traded my 2010 Rt in with 18,000 miles on it, the 3rd tire was on it, and it was shot. I just had a car tire put on the back of my 2013. 5600 miles and it was down to the wear bars.
