There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Rear sport rack install

I just purchased the rear sport rack for my 2012 rss. It did not come with instructions.
Can anyone tell me how difficult the install is and or should I just let the dealer do it? Thanks in advance.

I tried to install on my 2013 ST L but gave up and paid the dealer to install it. He even had problems because it was their first sport rack install. You might be more mechanical than me. Good luck.

Well..!!

I believe you can get instruction online. It is a bit of a chore but doable. You do have to remove left and right side panels, battery, splash guard so take your time and you should be fine...

Bought my Spyder with 230 miles on it. Sportrack already installed. It didn't work right so I had to take it apart. The dealer that installed it totally blew it. They wound up crushing the release cable. So one of the plastic pieces broke. I figured out the correct way to install by trial and error.

The rear side panels need to be removed. I find it easiest to remove both sides from the top and just let it fall a little. Leave the upper fender attached.

The release handle goes under the passenger portion of the seat, near the center but on the left side. The nut that hold it then threads on from the opposite side (above the rear inner fender).

The cable can thread through one of the holes in the frame. Then it needs to go to the center of the bike, not through another hole in the frame.

The sportrack has a "groove" in the center that the release cable fits very well. Me memory gets a little fuzzy at this point. I do not remember if you have to remove the bolts for the seat hinge or not. I seem to remember that you do. Anyway, it is pretty obvious where the 3" by 5" aluminum piece bolts up to the bike frame.

Do NOT pinch the cable.

Then four long bolts that hold the sportrack to the aluminum piece and put the side panels back on. Go for ride.

I did mine, it wasn't hard to do. I might have the instructions, I'll look tomorrow, and let you know.
