• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

REAR SHOCK

EVERYONE NEEDS TO CALL THE DEALER THAT THEY PURCHASED THERE F3 FROM AND MAKE A COMPLIANT ON THE REAR SHOCK BOTTOMING OUT. I BELIEVE THIS WILL HAVE TO BE DONE , BEFORE THEY WILL REPLACE THE REAR SHOCK. THE SHOCK BOTTOMING OUT IS WHAT IS CAUSING THE CRACKS IN WELDS AND THE FRAME CRACKING. SO EVERYONE CALL THE DEALER AND HAVE A CASE FILE OPENED ON YOUR F3'S. I WAS TOLD THIS BY B.R.P CUSTOMER SERVICE .

Somehow this feels wrong.

If they know they have a marginal spring on the rear shock causing the rear to bottom out with enough force and frequency to cause structure cracks, then they should do a recall. Why wait to have enough people complain to do something about it?? It seems to me, it is far cheaper to recall the F3's and swap out the rear spring vs. face a NHTSA safety recall and replace the rear shock AND frame.

Its called doing the right thing.

It is cheaper to install the bracket (parts costs for L bracket, 6 bolts and 2 nuts, $30) then to replace the shock. With the reinforcement bracket in place apparently BRP does not care if you bottom out all day. Lose weight and stop riding 2 up on the stock F3.

Dam!
My dealer didn't have a scale in the showroom to make sure I was in compliance.
So the U-Fit system needs a couple of tweaks.
Movable foot pegs, handle bars and when you sit on F3 a built in scale that goes Tilt when you reach a certain weight limit. Screaming get off Please. Really!

A lot of truth here, sadly. But, they should issue a recall or they might be doing thi free when you bring the bike in for servicing. They do need to catch this before the frame cracks for this bracket to be effective.

I seem to remember that the commercials for the F3 also included couples riding 2-up. Why would people not think it was intended for riding 2-up?
And why would BRP offer a passenger backrest if it was not intended for 2-up riding? Hmmmm....

Anyone with an F3 that has the same swingarm as an RT try to retrofit an RT airbag back there? Or even check for airbag provisions?
There are a handful of us RS riders that have done it and it works great, doesn't cost all that much either.

2 up riding doesn't apply to EVERYONE. It might not work for "bigger" people. It is what it is. That's what the RT is for.

Bottoming out

I am 200 lbs and have bottom out 2 to 3 times. I have only 1021 miles on it. I will be at the dealer on 2/24/16, getting the plate for the bracing done. I will be talking to G.M. about opening a case file on my f3. We have to start somewhere.

Check the front chin of the bike. I was a little pissed when I took my brand new 2012 RTS in for the 600 mile service and had the service rep tell me I scraped the chin. He went straight there and knew what he was looking for; I don't ever recall running the bike into something. I weight about 200.

You are documenting the weak suspension, so you might as well capture all the places the bike gets damaged as a result of the bike bottoming out. I am a bit surprised, someone has not had a front end explode on them.

I know the F3 is different and the front may be up high enough that it doesn't have an issue, but better to check... Post back what you find.
