• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Shock

Can anyone tell me if I would notice an improvement in the ride (2017 F3-S) if I was to change out the stock rear shock with the BRP Occasional 2up Rear Shock(219400739) and is it worth the $.

Doug:

I just did this exact same mod last weekend, and yes, I can tell you that you WILL notice a difference...no more bottoming out on the travel for me!

replace

Now that I've being convinced to go ahead with this purchase is this a replacement that can be done easily without having the install done by the dealer

Doug, I hate to muddy the waters but if you are sensitive to higher-performance additions, the BRP 2-Up Shock is rather crude compared to what is out there like an Elka shock. I weigh 160 pounds and solo, the BRP 2-Up shock made the ride a bit harsher although it did improve corner handling. If I were to do it over again and 2-3x the expense was not a problem, I would go with a more sophisticated shock that allows for adjustability. Just my take on it. OTOH, like folks have said, for the money, the BRP 2-Up shock is definitely an improvement over the weak stock F3 shock.

The problem is the other options on the market are NOT 2-3x the cost. The BRP 2-up shock is around $160. The others are $700 to $1200.
I'm 230 lbs and the two up is fantastic..... and I ride harder than most.
Is it going to be as good as an $800 Elka? Nope.... but it it fag and night better than the stock one.

Very easy install.
Remove rear and front seats. Loosen lower shock bolt. Jack spyder up just enough to remove lower bolt. Remover upper bolt.... a little tricky to access but not that bad. Remove shock. Reverse the procedure. It took me all of 30 minutes.
