• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My wife and I riding together put us over the suggested weight limit. Is there any adjustment I can do or overload shocks available?

rear shock adjustment

Hi, Did you try to adjust the rear shock? All you have to do is use two ratchet extentions and ratchets. Then put the extensions in the square holes around the bottom of the shock and turn it both at the same time to the next adjustment. Don't turn it to the last adjusment because you wont be able to get the extenion back in to change the setting back.

I have to wonder if some of the stated weight limit of the Spyder is for safety, not just for mechanical issues. Anyways, if adjusting the rear shock spring to the highest level isn't giving you what you need, maybe an air ride system like the one Kewlmetal sells might work.

Tighten up the front shocks as well...they are easy to do...just use the instrument in the tool kit from BRP to make the shocks a bit tighter.

I took mine from the 3 to the 4 position and wow, what a difference...the bike is much stiffer and is a better ride...

Unless you've already lubricated the spring preload cams, be sure to jack up the Spyder before adjusting preload up front, and, ALWAYS jack before adjusting rear preload (according to manual, anyway) I went to increase the front preload before ever leaving the dealer after reading instructions (and having done it MANY times on motorcycles) The pot metal spring cam shattered. Dealer swapped out a shock from their demo bike, lubed cams on both, to get me on the road.
