• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Shock - Adjustable Replacement??

ST Team,

2013 STS, rear shock seems very stiff riding solo. Ride is much better 2 up. Anyone replace rear shock with an adjustable??

I don't own an ST but on my RS the rear shock has a "ring" at the bottom that can be adjusted with a wrench to different positions to adjust the shock spring setting. When I ride 2 up I jump it up 3 notches. Does the ST not have this?

Agree...

If yours is not adjustable there are a few out there but not cheap. Fox, RaceTech, Elka, Progressive, Wilber etc. You could find an adjustable one from the RS, GS, RSS models...:dontknow:

shock options

I never regretted spending the bucks to have Cogent Dynamics in Asheville, NC, build a rear shock for my F3-S. Huge improvement in ride quality, and simple remote pre-load adjustment (no more locking rings!).

They are good, honest folk with whom to work.

Front and rear springs not adjustable:(

We put an Elka on the rear of our ST Limited. Ours had the Fox adjustable shocks up front so I just cranked up the spring preload to the max.

Elka Model Number

GearHd,

What year is your STL? Do you know the model or style of Elka shock? Did you install it yourself, big job? Was there a big difference?

Thx,

Doesn't Matter

All ST models are virtually the same mechanically, the year doesn't matter they are unchanged within the 3 years of production.
