The Aprilia sportbike it came from can rev but has 6th gear also. I find the Spyder easier to back up than a motorcycle so i would give up reverse for the sixth gear but this might create harmonics with the belt or other components as the load and rpm range will change. Still, I would like to try one witha sixth gear like the engine the spyder came from

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is the 6th gear on the Aprilia an overdrive? If not then the end result would be the same as we have now.

My thoughts exactly. :thumbup: Didn't some bike use the starter as a reverse motor?
If they kept the current 5 gears and could add a sixth on top, like an overdrive. :thumbup: There are still times that I feel myself wanting to upshift once more while cruising but find I'm already in fifth.
