There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear lighting with a luggage rack

Last year, I added a Can-Am Spyder Accessories luggage rack to my 2016 F3-S. It joined the Cross Country bags my machine came with, to let me haul a comfortable amount of gear for road trips.

This has had the unintended effect of reducing the visibility of the rear lights, as you can see from the attached picture.

To combat this, I'd like to hang some kind of auxiliary lights, preferably run-turn-brake, off my luggage rack.

As you know, the F3-S doesn't have as many auxiliary power connections under the seat as the F3-T or -L for customer add-ons ... so I'm not sure what would work without a lot of removing plastic and cutting of wires (which I really hate to contemplate).

I'd welcome suggestions from other F3-S owners of what lights or kit to consider. I'm sure some of you have done this very thing already to Pierre's or Lamonster's or Baker Built's luggage racks.

I added this light .. https://www.ebay.com/itm/383591605679 underneath my Lamonster Packrack using 3M double sided tape. I routed the wire along the left side rack arm and made a quick disconnect with bullet plugs to the accessory lead under the passenger seat. Easy on/off..

:agree: ....looks nice ..... There are dozens + dozens of 12v LED options on E-bay ... in lots of different sizes .... A run / brake light would be easiest ... but added turn signals are there also ... you don't need an OEM connection, just tap onto the wires that already exist for your run / brake light ..... good luck .... I tried that, as this light has a brake light option. Hyper flash/error codes resulted. It is a common issue on > 2019 F3's. Running light at the end of the luggage rack will have to suffice

If possible, I'd prefer not tap into the wires. Maybe I can't avoid that if I want run/turn/brake ... Troop's experience is just one of several I've heard of that make me leery about trying it on any Spyder.

Keep the thoughts coming, all. They're appreciated.

Thank you, Troop, for the suggestion and pictures.

BTW, love the flag mounts, too! Two thumbs way up!!

Thank you .. Theirs's really no tapping per se. Their is a accessory wire connection under the passenger seat for the sole purpose of adding electrical accessories. You can do it as simple as using a couple wire tap nuts to connect the light. Zero splicing involved.

Hmmmm! I wonder whether this unit be mounted on the luggage rack, instead of the rear fender. Wires might not reach that far ... but I like the wiring harness that comes with it.

HI Woodsman,

There are several other companies out there that offer lights for the rear of your spyder.
