There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. rear fender ideas

I want to remove the rear fender and put more of a sport bike looking fender. Little to no fender or just a tag holder at the top of the tire.
You guys have any ideas on a tag holder that would work.

I have this one on my GS and one just like it coming for my F-3.
The F-3 really soaks your backside on wet roads with no fender.
I plan on a luggage rack to fix that.

I seem to recall somebody putting a Kawasaki Concours rear fender on a GS... :dontknow:
I don't know what they cost, but it might be worth a look!

If you pay a little attention, this post is in the F3 forum. so, I would hope he's talking about an F3.

My Fender Removal

I had this done at the local dealership. Parts and labor totaled about $150.

Hey KC, nice ride.
Do you know what bracket and or tag holder they used?

Just found my parts and labor invoice. Give Tampa Bay Powersports a call, they can provide more info on the parts (813) 968-7888:

License Bracket - Part Number 201564 - $17.99
License Plate Frame with LED - Part Number 211324 - $29.99

They charged .5 hours for labor for $35.00

Total of $83 bucks. I had the pegs moved to position 4 and the fender removed. That's why I thought it was around $150. They said any sports bike bracket would work. Make sure they shave down the license frame screws down so it won't bump the tires if you ride 2-up. I am 6'0 and 240 pounds. I've had no issues.

Hope it helps!

Another idea . . . .

. . . another rider here in NM took off the rear fender and then mounted it ( screws ) to the top of the rear wheel well so that the plate was just under the brake/turn signals.

It looked very "clean" and he said it only took a couple of minutes to do. Later, he reinstalled the whole rear fender ( he was thinking he might sell it ) and the bike was back to 100% stock.
