• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear fender braket broke again

My rear fender braket is broke again on my 2008 spyder rs.
now i like to relocate my licence Plate under the seat and remove the rear fender.
can you help me to find the piece please .

The simplest off the shelf solution is to get the sport fender from BRP. It's in the online catalog.

Bummer...

This has been a problem with the earlier models. If you don't go to the sport fender you can order the support brackets from the newer model RS that were modified to correct this problem...you can also check on ebay, amazon and cheapcyclepart.com for better prices...:thumbup:
 
Multiple options.
-replace the brackets with the new style with the reinforcement pieces.
-find a good welder to weld yours up and reinforce it
-pull the fender completely and scour eBay for a simple plate holder/light.
-go with the BRP sport fender.
-do the zx14 fender mod.

:agree: with the above suggestions and add this option........find a plastic or metal trailer fender and cut it to fit then add an LED type tail + license plate light ......All these can be found on E-bay for cheap.....jmho....Mike :bbq:
 
I had the same issue and so ended up doing the ZX14 replacement. As mentioned the C14 and ZX14 both fit however I think only the ZX14 has the little metal brackets on it. These are intended for luggage straps on the Kawa but I found them the ideal place to mount some LED indicators.

The other thing I did to the original struts was get a 8-pack of Sugru and put it along the back of the struts. I you've not come across this stuff before it starts off moldable like play-doo but dries to a very hard rubber that's heat and cold resistant. This didn't stop the cracks from starting but did stop them spreading so at least the struts didn't fail when I was riding. In fact when they first cracked I didn't bother doing anything as it didn't spread. I only did the ZX14 change when I had 3 short cracks on one strut in different places and 2 on the other.
 
I had both sides welded back together.no problems since. 09 with 64k on it. its ridden every day it doesn't rain
 
A known issue on the 2008 bikes. I replaced mine with a Corbin fender with lighted license plate bracket. There were no quality issues with that option.
 
If your ever looking for the Sport Fender kit, I have a new kit in box ready to go. I've purchased it with the Spyder when I purchased it a few months ago. Never installed it and decided to remain stock.
