There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Rear fender / belt guard question

I'd like to go fender-less in the rear, but don't want to lose the belt guard. Has anyone managed to do this?

Thanks,
Joe

Joe, I had to do a fenderectomy while I was in TN before returning to CA. I was able to retain the larger part of the two parts that make up the belt guard with no issues whatsoever. I kinda like the way it looks with the Corbin bags on either side and no fender. :ohyea:

I have been fenderless for about two years. Bottom guard is still on, no way for a top guard that I can find. Driven in gravel for miles and miles with no issues so far.

cool topic.

Patches: Do you have any pictures to share? Also, I'm wondering if you find it an issue if you ride in the rain - does your back get wet when riding fenderless?

I was wondering if there was alternative fenders out there, with just a different look?

Cheers.

I sure do..just check out my profile. Plenty of pics.
I found a cheap piece of metal angel for a screen door hinge. it was exactly 90 degree angel with one big one on one side for the bolt to go in the back and two smaller ones I used to mount the license plate. I then got some white LEDs that you find in any moto shop that screw into your plate, wired them directly the existing wires that came off the fender and there it was. I bend the license plate a bit up as I go two up from time to time.
As for the rain, I rarely ride in a down pour but if I do, I don't get wet at all but if I ride two up, the passenger does get a little wet. If it is raining, you are wet anyway. The license plate does a good job at blocking most of it.
Will take some pics of my stuff when I get a chance.

"We took the stock rear mud guard support and cut it down so that it was just higher than the belt. I re-plated the top section, used body filler and then coated it with gloss black. Easy custom belt guard."
