• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

REAR ENDED

at 3;30 today. Crap I hope this doesn't take my bike out for the rest of the summer. Sitting dead still and smack, a young lady ran into me. My rear bumper (the black lower one with the license plate is toast but it missed all painted surfaces. I think my trailer hitch did more damage to her car than anything. After I got my bearings I decided to pull off the road and for the first time it went into limp mode. is that something that's common with a hard impact like that? I took the key out walked away for a while and it started back up with no limp mode (Praise God) what do you think about it knocking the alignment off my back wheel? should i have it checked out before i drive it too much (60 miles away) or just order the rear bumper ,$150.00 from BPR, Any opinions? oh yea, Im Ok, but my poor baby is hurtin by the way its a bright Red 1012 RT SE5 with lots of add ons

Sorry to hear that.

Sorry to hear you where rear ended, have a Red :f_spider: also, I can imagine how you feel, hope that's all that's wrong with your :f_spider:, I would get it checked out before you get it up to any high speeds. Good luck.

Was there a code when it went into Limp Mode? Did it say check engine or something else? I had the same thing happen to me on the 4th of July but the guy who hit me had been stopped also and took his foot off the brake and got my trailer hitch. He didn't get any damage but he did get a lecture from me. :roflblack:

:agree:,glad your ok.

I had a 18 wheeler pass me a couple of years ago and he created a huge turbulence that suddenly shook the bike and put me into the limp mode. I was doing 60 mph when he passed me going down hill. I knew that the limp mode not real because the sudden shaking caused by the truck passing me upset the various sensors which the computer read as a problem and went into its protect mode. I did the same as you by shutting it down, walking away for a while. Came back and it started right up and continued on my way to Maggie Valley. Never had a problem since then. As far as the belt goes, is it still riding the rear sprocket correctly? There should be a 1 to 5 mm gap between the belt and the inside edge of the rear sprocket. I would diffidently have the belt tension checked.

Bummer..!!

glad you are alright. I would have the roadster checked out. Have the swing arm pivot points and the hitch points checked. Check rear wheel alignment as well...be safe..!!

Get your Spyder checked for hidden damage. That is why we have insurance and you don't want to have problems down the road.
With the technical nature of these machines comes high cost that you don't want to incur on your own.
Also get yourself checked out, don't want any hidden damage there either. Good Luck and Ryde on.

:agree::agree: There's a lot more than meets the eye going on... Her insurance will have to pay for the repairs.
DON'T delay!
Good luck!

Glad you appear to be unhurt, and sorry your ride got trashed! Excellent advice from YPilot!

Did the person that hit you have insurance? Because I definitely would be collecting. If nothing else the person that hit you might want to just buy you the back fender if there isn't any more serious damage. It would be cheaper than paying a deductible for them and a lot of people would jump all over that offer. But get everything checked out first because like the previous posts suggest, there might be hidden damage.
