It's been about 5 weeks now since I bought my 2012 RT, so I'm still learning a lot about the ins and outs of this bike. I ride mostly 2 up. About 3 weeks ago, I adjusted the front shocks to a 4 setting, up from the factory 3 setting. That helped some, but never really realized that I needed to adjust the rear suspension along with it. So today I checked the rear suspension and found that it was only around 25 psi. From the chart in the manual, I added quite a bit of air to make up for the extra load. The wife, my passenger, says the bumps are quite a bit better, but she still feels as though she is swaying at highway speeds. She called it fishtailing, but I know that's an exaggeration. The only real difference I can tell is the steering feels a little tighter going around curves.
Is there anything else that I can try to eliminate this? She feels a little unstable riding back there on speeds over around 60 MPH.
I've really been considering Bajaron's sway bar. Should that take care of both the steering as well as her "swaying" on the back?
