• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Compartment Lock

:banghead: I stopped to run in and get a gallon of milk, went to lock the rear compartment, and the:cus: lock cylinder pulled nearly all of the way out. I did a search on the forums, and found several others with 2010 RT's that have had the same problems. Will be making a trip to the dealer in the am. My question is, are there any service bulletins that reference this issue with the 2010's??? Hopefully it will be covered under warranty. Will keep you posted. Ryde Safe!!

As there isn't a key lock for the RT trunk, I assume you are referring to the rear trunk of the RT622 Trailer.:dontknow: There has been a few reports mainly on the early 2010 RT622 trailer. Should be repaired under warranty.

????? There most certainly is a lock for the rear cargo compartment and saddlebags...right above the handles.

Did the barrel come all the way out? Perhaps the tab that holds it in simply wasn't seated well enough at the factory. Make sure it's lined up with or without the key in it and press VERY firmly to seat it. I only say this because I installed the barrel in my trailer today and the first time I went to take they key out the barrel wanted to come with it. I did as I'm advising you and it all worked out. Hope this helps and good luck.

I understand that the first 400 rt that were built could have this problem. If it is still under basic warranty it should be covered but I think all of the locks must be changed for the key to match them all. That said I think that the extra lock that comes to match trailer will fit if it was not used for trailer

As I recall, early on (RT 2010) models seemed to have a rash of these problems where the key couldn't be removed from the rear trunk lock. You might do a thread search and pull up some of those early posts on this problem. All of those early comments caused me to be sure and carry that extra key on me at all times when riding. If my rear trunk ever locked up, which it nevers has, at least I'd be able to drive off.

Since having to replace my trailer locks twice I now am very careful about pulling out the key in both the trailer and the Spyder.

Rear Trunk lock

I have a 2010 RTS that is at the dealership having this issue addressed, it is a warranty item for BRP. Hope this helps.

Why son of a gun ! There's a gosh darn lock. I stand corrected,my apologies :opps: :opps:. I have never in almost 3 1/2 years locked anything on my Spyders ,with the exception of the frunk .

Two birds with one stone

We brought Smurfette into the shop early this am, and while I was there, describing the problem, one of the techs said " Oh yeah, I do remember seeing some kind of notice about the 2010 RT's having that problem". Whew! And they got the parts from BRP for the brake pin recall, so both will be done at the same time! It sure makes it a lot better when you are blessed with a great dealership!
