• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rear Brake Pads

Some reason my Rear Pads are wore out @ 10,000 miles....Sounds to me like the rear Caliper is stuck or something...It is still in the shop, and they want to install new Pads which I agreed to but there has got to be something causing the problem...

I also had a new rear tire installed and they told me the rear axle was froze to the bearings, and the rear tire had water in it...Never heard that one before...Not sure what is going on there...

Brakes dragging? Axle and bearing froze may cause by heat with brakes dragging. Hope you get it all fix up and ride and enjoy the sunshine.

They should be able to tell if there is a caliper issue. Ten thousand isn't great, but it seems to be at the lower end of normal for the rear brakes, from what I have seen.

I agree with Scotty. 10,000 isn't all that bad for the rear brakes. I'd check to be sure there isn't something contributing to wear but I've found that you need to change the rear pads about twice as often as the fronts.

Also, there isn't much meat on the pads to start with. Some look at them and compare with other pads they've owned and think they are worn out when actually, they are not.

The wifes RTS lasted 9200 miles before she needed a new rear tire and brakes. I swear the next one will be a car tire and better brakes. I think its crazy why there rear stock tires and brakes cant last on avg over 10+K miles. I was in a hurry and couldnt wait to put a tire and brake pads on that I wanted so I stuck with the stock stuff this time but the next time I will go with the EBC brake pads and car tire.
