• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

rear air shock

Is it normal to hear air hissing from the rear air shock on my RTS? Seems to me little air compressor will not last long if it is always running.

It is not uncommon to hear it if you change the shock setting, or if a passenger gets off, but it should be short and limited...not frequent or continuous. The compressor should seldom run, again mostly when you change settings or start up the Spyder. See your dealer, sounds like you have a system failure somewhere.

It was explained to me that it's a self adjusting system and that hissing sound is normal but as stated it should stop when the shock sets for the body weight change. :dontknow:

Bike has been at dealers for 600 mile check up. air compressor found to be defective and has to be replaced warranty problem.

Whoo! Seems it was not the compressor but a faulty shock. I think this has happened to many early models.

It actually happened to me a few weeks ago. West Coast Powersports replaced it the day I brought my bike in. Mine was faulty since day one and I didn't realize it. I tend to accept, this is how it rides, and then adapt to it. I was amazed at the difference after the shock was replaced.
