That is a really nice looking bike John. If I was looking, I would really consider it.
In 2015, I really considered getting the GTL. The things that held me off was:
1. All service has to be done by a BMW dealership or your warranty is voided. I believe that this is in the purchase agreement. Not sure if this is true, but was told to me by a guy who had purchased a new BMW. I also modify my bikes a lot, so that may void their warranty as well.
2. I had heard about several major issues that they had. Didn't realize that they had them worked out though.
3. The price was almost twice that of my 1800 Valkyrie that I did buy.
4. It was too top heavy for my liking.
5. It was really too big for what I wanted. I was getting rid of a 1999 Valkyrie Interstate and I wanted a lighter bike.
The new 1600 B would have reasons 2, 3, 4 & 5. If #1 was still true, that would be a deal breaker for me.
In the end I bought the new Valkyrie and I could not be any happier. It has all the power someone needs and it feels like a smaller bike with the low center of gravity provided by that 1800 cc engine.
Do yourself a favor and try out the new Valkyrie. If you need side bags, Corbin makes an awesome set that looks great. I put on a set of bags from a 1999 Valkyrie Interstate.
