• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ready for my first Spyder wash...How do you keep your Spyder looking new???

I do it the old fashion way.

Dawn dish soap (great stuff) bucket wash and a misty hose off. I do not bucket wash or spray the dash area.
Shammy it all dry, pop open all the compartments and dry the cracks and gaps.
Had wax with Turtle Wax Ice.
Plexus for cleaning the wind shield, display, and mirrors.
On the plastics I shine them up with Nu-Vinyl. I am with JC no Armour-all!!!
Tire rubber I use a tire cleaner (forget the name).

I do this type of cleaning about every 6 months. In-between I touch up clean with a micro-fiber cloth and plexus.

This is what a 2011 can look like with a full detail like that :)

Is it hard to remove the plastic dash panel that covers the speedometer? at some point I got water running down from the inside. Im more careful now not to get hose spray on the dash.

Works great on everything and evan better on the windshield. Can be bought everywhere and is 1/3 the price.

Once you get it clean use this
http://www.rejex.com/rejex.html

I have used it for years on my Vettes great polish and works like rainex but better. I use it on all plastics including windshield. All bugs come off with a warm water cloth at most. Microfiber towel at least.

I on the other hand don't use soap and water at all. Plexus, protect-all, plex-rx and now Black Diamond and a microfoft towel and air. Tire shine for the wheels and WD-40 on the controls and matte plastics. Spyder still looks new...this is my way..

What does the WD 40 do on the controls?

I use a quality car wash soap & water from a bucket... rinse with a light spray from a hose... then I blow dry my Spyder with a electric leaf blower to get rid of the water in the hard to reach places.... & use some Turtle Wax spray to keep the shine .. don't forget Armour the tires..

:agree:

I am going to try the Black Diamond, but in the mean time I use the Pro Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish. That is what they used when they detailed my Spyder for delivery. Just use a good mild car wash and the spray cleaner and polish. Or the Black Diamond

Easy and it works

We take about 10 to 12 large terry cloth towels and soak them in hot water. We then wring them out so that are not dripping and drape them all over the RT. Let them sit for a few minutes and the bugs almost fall off. No detergent, and in California you can't wash your vehicle at home anyway:roflblack:. Then we dry with soft towels, and until recently, we used plexus on all the Tupperware, windshield, and Chrome, last night we used Lamonster's Black Diamond Detailer and wow what a shine. Had to wear my sunglasses in the Garage. We don't wait to wash the Spyder, it gets cleaned after every ryde.:yes::yes:

I use Lemon Pledge on all surfaces (except tires) and n my eye glasses and face shield as well. I wipe down and polish with two microfiber cloths. I've done this with all my bikes and find it works well for me.
