• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Re : I fix the PO174

I just finish changing the valve cover gasket. When i remove the throttle body i can see the valve look what it look like it have deposit carbon. 6 month a go i put some sea foam in it maybe not enough they did remove carbon but maybe half of the valve so the valve it not closing tight give a lean condition P0174.
I'm thinking loud that why i look everything i can think..

Yesterday after noon, I warm up the spyder , use see foam a the same time. Turn off to cool down. Spray sea foam in the throttle body intake directly on the valve ,let it sink for 45 minutes. Start the bike , ear some noise (cling cling) from the valve 2-3 sec.... back to normal idle noise.
Make the oil change , with 10w40 amsoil.

9:30PM I decided to take it for a ride to takeaway my check engin light on highway 70-80mph , it was pretty cold 48F , with heat vest, heat handle, 21" windshield make is job. 18 miles later i stop for fill up 89 octane ane check engine turn off. During this evening i put 60 miles, no error code ,check engine off.

Today, i decided to take another ride 55F. Put another 100 miles no error code ,check engine off.
I wish i have resolved my P0174.

Hey Mickay, you are definitely not boring anyone, you are providing valuable information. Tres bon job mon ami! C'est bon pour faire ton travail sur son Spyder, mon j'aime ca aussi!

No more P0174

Hi,

After 200 miles no check engine and no error code. The bike pull hard ,run smooth.

What i do ?

Change fuel filter ? Check for hose leak. (I fix the leak)
Cleaning injector manually ? Already clean.
Change flange intake ? I change both one was crack.
Recheck spark plug and wire.
Change valve cover gasket
Cleaning the valve with sea foam.
Change 3inch hose on throttle body. One was crack.

I think my problem was the flange intake.

I'm happy that i fix my self without dealer or BUDS.:ohyea:

injector o ring

Hi,

Just to let you know ,my p0174 and backfiring are back. Bad Injector o-ring could cause p0174 too lean and gas smell. I will put new o-ring and let you know.

Also be mindful of the purge valve. As they age they can stick open. Pinch off the line and see if your issue goes away.
