• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am curious to see if anyone has used a replacement headlight bulb such as a Sylvania SilverStar Ultra on the Spyder?

I have. While the Sylvanias do emit a much brighter light than the stock bulb, I can say though that they do not last long at all. I replaced my stock bulbs back in the summer of 2011 and by mid summer last year one had already burned out. I wouldn't recommend them unless you don't mind the cost of having to replace them often.

SilverStars are sensitive to vibration, of which the Spyder has a lot of. I tried them before in my truck and was always replacing bulbs every few months.

High heat..!!

I found that the high intensity bulbs put undo stress on the filaments. Running driving lights does a better job..

I used the XtraVision in my GS because they are Brighter.
If you look at the back of the package Sylvania gives you the expected Life and intensity Of the bulbs!!
Lets say a stock bulb lasts 500 hours?
The Xtravision will last 50% as long or Approximately 250 Hours.
The SilverStar and Ultra will last 25% as long or about 125 Hours.
You can see the chart below-Xtravision is darkened out.
I feel the XtraVision is a good compromise!
