RATS!!! Signature Light & harness not available in UK!

I ordered the new Signature Light & harness from my dealer back in September and
they have just been informed by BRP that it is not available to the European market.
Probably doesn't conform to our arcane Vehicle Construction and Use requirements.
So now I'm even more determined to get it!

Lol, When I had my RS I ordered a few things out of the BRP catalog for it and was informed that they discontinued some of the items. I said but this is a current catalog and the dealer just laughed and said that it happens a lot with BRP.

Interesting news ... tho sometimes they may say 'not available' meaning 'we're not going to import it' rather than anything reflecting local laws. EDIT correction, I was wrong - the 'international' brp accessories catalog says "not EC compliant". Oh.

It would be great if you could post a link to the supplier you do find, just in case the same problem occurs in oz - I'd love to get it for husband's F3 and I know he likes the look of it.

Multiple offers of help and more than one PM offering the same generosity.

'Kay....this is what I'm gonna do: It all comes down to whether or not I go to SpyderFest 2016.
It is hugely expensive for me and so I will have to think long and hard. ( It's also a bitch of a flight!)
If I do attend SpyderFest then I'll ask Lamont to order one for me a month before I leave.
If I don't attend then I'll be taking up one of your very kind offers of help.

Signature Light available to buy in UK

After doing some digging found a UK BRP dealer that's able to get hold of signature light and harness for UK market. Lloyd at OHG rang me yesterday saying he is able to get hold of Signature light and harness and did explain to me that its not holomogated for UK, which we all know this.
Jeff (OJ UK) sent you a PM but just wanted to post here for other UK spyder owners too. :thumbup:

Yes mate, I received the invitation but it wouldn't help as as a company they cannot be seen to flout a country's laws by making
"illegal" parts available.
We have a lot of pointless and arcane regulations for vehicles here! They don't enforce any of them! (unless you get stopped for a driving offence and
argue with the officer!)
A few for you:
No car horn allowed that plays a tune or alternates between two or more notes. La Cucaracha is a definite no-no as is Dixie!!
HID lights MUST be automatically levelling.
Any coloured light on the vehicle other than red at the rear, white at the front and amber indicators. The reason that Oz and NZ Spyders have different rear flashers! ( Since the channel tunnel opened we're seeing a great many foreign trucks over here lit up like Xmas trees with every color imaginable! They can be booked for it but the paperwork is phenomenal and it doesn't happen!)
Here's a new one....It is illegal to smoke tobacco in a vehicle while there is a child of under 18 years in the same vehicle....Really!! It's true. So if a 17 year old has his own car and lights up what exactly do they think they're going to do??!!

The smoking in a vehicle while there is a child under 18 years in the same vehicle, I am happy that it is made illegal, because when I used to smoke in my car and drive my son to school, he used to tell me off for smoking in car because his school uniform would smell of cigarette smoke and smoke would make him cough. I then respected his wishes and didn't smoke in the car whilst transporting him. That was a first my own son telling me off.
