• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Have a 2012 rs-sse5
purchased 2 months ago now has 10K kilometers.Have had random problems
Gears not engaging for one
Had an oil change and seems to be a bit better but last week the Alladin lamp light popped on, shut off after a couple of minutes.Today was trying to pull out of a parking spot,was in 1st gear.Would not move.
rpm raised slightly. The obvious foot on brake or emergency on is a non starter.
shut it down a couple of moments retried. same.
Called spouse. Then waited couple of minutes. Tried again. Worked perfectly after that.
was able to finish 2 more errands before home.
Garage is holding open my work order from the oil change 2 weeks ago to see if anymore problems arise.
Just wondering.

Shifting..!!

problems arise form oil related issues. Oil level should be full or below and fresh oil and filters (oil and transmisson) at indicated change point. You had your oil changed assume they did filters as well. Some have had issues with the paddle shifter and or actuator/selenoid. Your clutch could also be a cause. If you got any codes this would help. MikeinGA had no codes...:dontknow:

Today went for a 40 kilometer ride. All was perfect.
When I got the oil changed they also did the filter.
Will check out the paddle shifter. Its has been good so far...
The code that keeps popping up is the one that looks like Alladins lamp. But it does not stay on longer than an hour then shuts down.
My spyder is semi-automatic.

We had a similar issue. We had to have the paddle shifter replaced on our 2011 RSS. I'd have them check it and the speed sensor. Could be your issue.
 
Random problems

My problems seem to have ended.
Took her in for 10K check up. Cleared up all the fault codes. The CO2 sensor was on.
Turns out the airbox plug was not plugged in. Since July 11th when I got her back Gracie has been running wonderful. 1500 KM have been put on.
Smooth. All that can ask for. Plus I only paid $307.00 . Considering what I have been reading, this was much lower

Your would not move in 1st gear is the EXACT problem I've been having, its very intermittant.

My 2012 has been in the shop many times for gear shifting and startup problems.
It has had two GPS sensor failures and many times will misshift if the engine temp is under two bars

It also every 500-1000 miles goes into an unknown limp mode where you turn the Spyder on and it starts in 1st gear instead of N, and refuses to shift or move. I have videos of the problem too. Its often hot out, wet out, or humid when it does it, but not always, and its always at start up, never after riding.

They have thrown probably 100 miles of test riding, and close to 20 hours of shop time on it with no clue as to whats going on... they only reproduced it themselves when someone went to drive it into their garage, but the guy wasn't the tech who had been working on it and when they came back to it a few minutes later and turned it on it was working fine.

BRP has replaced the whole ignition system and the throttle body (which contains several sensors). They are currently consulting them again for

When this happens to lights and no codes are flagged on my unit.
