• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ram mount on a rs

I want to install a gps on my Spyder rs . What kind of ram mount can i use?

I use their glare screen clamp one which I clamp on the side of my screen (Part No. RAM-B-177-202U). Mine came with a diamond mount instead of the round one but I can't find that on their site.

The bolts that came with it were plastic so I was a bit worried about it not holding but it's been fine - though it's only done 3k so far. I do have a lanyard just in case:-)

Reason I went for this is it positioned my phone just to the right of the rev counter and quite high which I found worked best for me. I did look at the bar mounts but that felt cluttered.

Just to mention that the one they do that fits the RT wouldn't work on an RS.

I also looked at fitting permanent one around the clocks somewhere. Couldn't find a flat surface that was strong enough that gave me the right positioning but I'm sure some one has found somewhere good.

Best solution for me was...

I have tried many RAM mounts for the '12 RS-S and the best one for me was the RAM-B-108BU.

I purchased it from amazon for around $18 and I use X-grip to hold the iPhone 6 plus with Otterbox case while riding.

Here's what I did..!!

regular handle bar mount..toss the "u" clamp and bottom plate and bolt it on...20130228_115823.jpg 20140316_132913_resized.jpg ran a power cord to it and works great...

My solution, with the X-grip you can swap things around. I also made a flat smooth 2.5x5x3/8" board, stick it in the X-grip and you can stick a suction cup on it if need be.

When I installed risers, I left about an inch and a half of the old bars on each end to fasten ram mount U bolt/ball attachments to the old bar ends.

Id like to offer an alternative idea, its slow at work today :) Do you need to see the screen that bad? i think they look hideous on the bars and since everyone on the planet has GPS on their phones for free, just get a bluetooth helmet and the girl will feed the directions right into your ear. Mine has the drop down sun visor as well as built in bluetooth and was less than a GPS never mind the mount lol

made a choice

Finally installed my ram and gps.

Ziet er goed uit.

(Hope that's right, most of my Dutch was limited to "Gelieve een ander La Trappe Bier" or something like that:-))
