Raise'n Heli...MEN INCREASE YOUR RISER BY 4.5"

Only on certain bikes.......:yikes:

:agree:ones you don't ride more than 10 miles a year:thumbup:

What does a higher handlebar accomplish? I sit very comfortably upright on my Spyder and I am 5' 8". My stock seat is comfortable enough with my Indian Taxi Driver beaded seat cover. (Yes it looks goofy but I sit on it so who is going to see it?)
It is good that the Spyder is comfortable and controllable for you. Everyone is built differently, however, and that is not the case for some. A different bar position can make all the difference in the world. That is the reason for the sensible risers. Even BRP markets a small one themselves. The adjustable ones like the NoMagic and KewlMetal varieties, let you find a position that suits your riding posture.

As to ape hangers, tall ones are illegal in most states. If your hands end up above your shoulders, you have less control. They are a statement, more than they are utilitarian. I won't venture into social commentary, but let's just say I do not think highly of them except for show.

Scotty,

If your shoulders are above 90 degrees, especially in the coronal plane, you're going to lose your supraspinatus anyway...impingement is not a good thing, period...you'd have to be pretty foolish to keep your arms in that position, unless you don't value your shoulders!

That's not my Spyder. I did see them and I didn't much care for them. I love my No Magic 4" risers though. :doorag:

What is that piece on your bike where the ignition key goes what's the function? Did you also use the 1" riser in addition to the Magicmans riser/

Gosh. I was concerned that I was missing something with risers and now I have a supraspinatus to worry about. And Impingement.

In any case I get the idea- the Spyder does not fit everyone as built. I am either lucky or naive about the fit of my spyder.

There are so many things that people do to their Spyders that amaze me. Some seem just odd and some seem like engineering marvels. It is hard for me to tell which is which.

whats the chance that that 4" riser from magicman losens and oh well..

We now have almost 400 kits now out there and installed on Spyders in the 3 different styles.

Now Lamonster has to have the most miles at about 15k on his set, but most owners have anywhere between at least 500 to 1000 miles on average on their sets. That equalls between 200,000 to 400,000 miles of use in consumer hands.
We have not had one customer ever say that they have had their risers ever loosen up. Nor, has anyone on any of the forums said so ether, and we all know they would say something in the forums for sure if they ever came loose.

Not in a bragging way, but I am sure we have more risers now installed and with more miles of use than any other company making Spyder risers period.

If at 300 lbs I can't get these to move with everything I have tried to do to make them move, (even holding up my entire body weight on just the risers, something I think might snap or would at least bend the Spyder's steering stem when used with one of the other styles being sold ) :yikes: then the average owner won't ever move these.

Also, the 1 inch thick billet aircraft grade aluminum riser block, and solid bar stock (as only the very end of our bar stock is hollow to allow for people to use cruse assists) is many times stronger than the stock handle bar materials as well.

I have the one inch BRP riser, so I would need the 3", but you said 3" is for the manual shift and I have the SE5. I looked at the installation instructions and it seems that the only difference is the cutout for the manual on the riser, so would it not also work with the SE5?

Sorry but SM5 risers of any size do not work on SE5s models.

The SE5 has a special designed left side riser to allow for the huge switch pack of the auto shift.

The SE5 riser only comes in the 4 inch length becauase 3 inches would not allow the switch pack to fit.

You would need to remove your 1 inch BRP riser block before you install the 4 inch riser kit.

This is the 4" SM riser on a SE. As you can see the risers are rolled back a bit. If it wasn't rolled back the switch would be pointing in the air. If you did a 3" riser you may have to roll it back even more.:dontknow: If you wanted to make sure it works right just take off the BRP 1" riser and go with the NMN 4" made for the SE. :doorag:

No. They just raise the bar. I'm 6'4". The 1" Riser is great for me. I really like this riding position. Some people would rather sit more upright, or lean back some. It's all in what you like. For me, this makes the Spyder a nice cross between the 'sport' riding position, and 'touring'.

And, also note; I have the Ultrasport windshield. I like the wind!
:agree:

I have the 1" BRP riser, plus the Corbin seat. The backrest still works for me as well. Guess it depends on how much you slouch!
