• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Rain Season

Visited a couple of bike shops recently and they all have the same,, sell sell sell LOGO and do not seem to have gear worth serious consideration. Visited an outdoor climbing shop and met someone who showed me really good Gore Tex, seam glued pants which would definately do what I am looking for,, I Think. On sale for 100 and three times too big which should fit over existing gear, with zip on the legs all the way up. Will purchase these and let you know how they work out.
The hunt will continue though. Would love to arrive at destination in Good Looking gear, even through rain and fell dry and protected as well.
Thanks for updates

Zippers will leak unless they have double fold covers, secured with velcro (not snaps). The longer the zipper, the more potential for leaks. Good motorcycle raingear will have a solid panel of material under the short zippers, to keep water out of the leg openings and fly, yet open far enough that you can put the clothes on. Climbing and camping raingear does not have to withstand the constant force of the wind, trying to push the rain trough every nook and cranny, in directions gravity never envisioned. If you have a BMW shop you can visit, try there for ggod riding gear. They usually cater to the touring crowd, and have a great clothes selection...riding suits and raingear. They usually can offer good advice, too.

Unfortunately no BMW dealers that I know of. I am in the southwest and there are only two bikeshops that I know in the county and I have checked both out, no good. Would have to drive three hours to a Harley Dealer.
Did pick up a Gore-Tex Berghaus storm overtrousers today, the ones with the long zips on the legs, but I will wear them over bike gear anyway, so not worried about water problems on the side,, just where I sit. They are 3 layer gore-tex with glued seams.
Checked the label and in the USA AT W.L. Gore & Associates Inc. 295 Blue Ball Road, MD, 21921. Don't see any website. Only gore-tex.com
Will Let you know the results as the rain continues.
