• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

rain gear

Buying raingear is like buying shoes...what works for one can be horrible for another. Sometimes the search takes a while. Buy good quality motorcycle raingear. There is a variety available if you visit bike shops, especially those that sel touring bikes like BMWs or Goldwings. Thing I look for include a good double-fold rian gutter at the front closure, stirrups to keep the legs down, gussets in the legs to allow the gear to be put on quickly over your boots, and an adjustable neck. I like brighter colors, so I am visible in dark weather. Reflective strips are a plus, too. I also like having a hood. For some Frogg Toggs work well, but others need the features and fit of FirstGear, Tourmaster, Harley, BMW, and other dedicated raingear brands. Try some on and take your best shot, but you won't really know until that first hard rain.

I find that if you use a Hefty bag as your rain suit or a $1000 brand XXX rain suit, after a couple of hours in the rain you are going to get wet. To me that is just the nature of the beast of riding in the rain. Spend your money wisely and do get one that fits and is easy to get on but also realize if you ride long enough in the rain you'll get wet.

rain gear, as stated, is very individual.....I would suggest that you try it on before you buy online.....and make sure you wear your riding jacket and pants........I had Frogg toggs...very nice, but the bike I have, besides my Spyder, would burn the inside of the right leg on the piipe when I stopped...so I went with Tourmaster gear with nomex inside the legs.....however, this is not an issue with the Spyder...I saw tan Frogg Toggs on sale at Sportman's accessories.com, so I bought a pair for the wife and I.....might use them on the way to New York this week!

:bdh: A ton of post about rain suits here if you do a search ( let the search function be your friend ) What some swear by others swear at.

I see this is your first post. :congrats: on being a:spyder2: Lover.:welcome:enjoy your ride and stay dry .

My husband and I use Frogg Toggs, they have worked very well for the both of us in the rain, and they are a decent price too.

There is nothing enjoyable about riding in the rain. I occasionally have to do it, and use a $20 Costco suit, which works as well as anything. Otherwise, I avoid riding in the rain, whenever possible - and out here, it doesn't rain like it does in your part of the world. I've had to stop in a cage in Atlanta - it was raining too hard to see. Personally, I can't fathom trying to ride it that…

Enjoy

I enjoy riding in the rain,, But if it gets to be to much I do the same as I would in my cage,, Get out of it,, :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I don't mind mind a light steady rain. It's when it becomes a toad-strangler, that I start wanting to get back indoors!

Ideas on rain gear.

Don't forget Military Surplus stores, TSC (Tractor Supply Store), and Wally World. I personally plan on wearing my gortex issued rain suit in the rain.

1. I know it fits.
2. I know it works.
3. If it rips I can turn it in and get a new set for FREE!

Left dealer today after warranty repairs still i incomplete had to get to a short notice memorial otherwise wd hv waited. Raining hard maniac on road cant see but still speeding makes me wish i could pack. Front tires wobblin in water rear hydroplaned bad across 2 lanes but accelerates thru to stability. Wow. Scary but home in one piece! Any other similar experience? Wear tour master and firstgear just need rain overpants and clean drawers upon arrival!

The one piece suits work well BUT they are not the easiest things to put on when you hit a sudden downpour and you want them on quickly. The 2 piece frogg toggs go on faster and are much cooler to ride with in the in and out or light rain scenarios.

Frogg Toggs Elite Highway, excellent.
