There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Rain Gear Recommendations??

Papa

I've seen conflicting reviews on several rain suits so I am asking the group I trust the most - - - this forum. What are your experiencxes with different products? Any recommendation for or against any products?

Thanks in advance..

I use Frogg-toggs because they fold up real small, are priced good and when they get too bad, I just replace them. Plus, you dont sweat to death in them like some suits

I have a Tourmaster suit but the pants have the rubber lining and on hot days you sweat so much you might as well have been rained on. I often use them on colder days for wind pants and they work well for that. Also in very heavy rain I found my arms getting wet through the Jacket.

I also have Frogg Toggs, very light and nice on very hot days. Wish the jacket was longer as I am long in the Torso. They have done a pretty good job even in heavy rain but still get a little wet. Of course, I have only purchased the cheapy's you can get at Gander Mt and such. They have a motorcycle suit that is a bit tougher I think it is the Road Toads. They are supposed to be extremely good and still keep you dry without being too hot. Maybe someone that has those can chime in.

Raingear?

My vote is for Frog Toggs. I've ridden in several rain storms, heavy and light. I also have used them under my leathers for wind protection. This past season was my third season on the same suit. After I take them off I just fold them up and put them in frunk.
Just my experience and opinion.

XELEMENT (from LeatherUp.com) has a nice compact top & bottom set with reflective panels....and folds into its own case which fits nicely in the rear trunk with a lot of room left over!

We had the Frogg Toggs (Road Toads ) and found we got very wet in heavy rain and switched to the Harley Davidson High Vis rain suits . Fold up pretty much the same as the Frogg Toggs. They are much more expensive but I think you get What you pay for in the long run . I also got a great deal on the Can Am Spyder rain suit that I think is one of the best made suits that I've seen . Also Alcoa Good Times is having a supper sale on now although I usually pick my stuff from Ebay.

I like my Teknic rainsuit the best. Not sure if they are available these days. The Tourmaster Sentinel also works well. Look for a full length folding flap at the zipper opening, and a velcro flap closure instead of snaps. Full length velcro is a pain, but works best. Look for a high neck with a soft lining. Make sure the pants and sleeves have enough length, and the pants have stirrups to keep them down. I like elastic pants cuffs and velcroed wrist closures. A hood you can wear under the helmet to keep the rain off your neck is a plus. Be sure to try the suit on over your normal riding gear...that's how it will have to go on in a hurry on the road.

Tourmaster Elite, it's kept me dry for the last 2 years, decent ventilation, not for really hot weather, though.

I used the frog toggs for a few seasons and was impressed how well they worked in very heavy rain, but if they get close to the pipe, they will burn quickly. They breath well in warm weather and in could, I would put them on over my lethers...

You may try to RedHed ones that Bass Pro sells, a little more pricey but I hear they work great...:dontknow:

I have used all types of rainsuits fishing bass tournys, riding atvs, bikes, and now the spyder. Gore-tex is the best if you want to stay perfectly dry but expensive. I like the Frogg Toggs for a combination of price, light weight, and still keeping you dry. So I use my gore-tex when it is colder and Frogg Toggs when I can get by with it. Like other people on here have said the Frogg Toggs stroe very well. I have the "classic pro advantage" which is a bib style so you dont have to worry about your jacket riding up. My wife has the "signiture bull frogg" , her is a link to their web site. As someone mentioned earlier they do make a suit just for riding with reflective areas for safety. Good luck with your search.

Firstgear for me. Also have a pair of Rev-it pants with the rain liner--they also work well for me. The gear really got tested well this last summer--we had rain every day but two or three days.

Been doing a lot of testing over the past few weeks and the best solution I have come up with is to put on some good comfortable gear and a cheap waterproof layer on top. The more expensive gear does not seem to be great in the rain, but the gore tex cheaper stuff is great. So you have comfort with waterproof.
Gloves are still a problem. Just bought BMW gloves for € 100 and they are only okay. Going to try heated ones soon.

I've used the Frog Togs several times in moderately heavy rain, worked well for me. As others have said they work well in hot weather, they breathe very well.

Rain Gear- Frog Toggs

I have used Frog Toggs for about three years and if you put the hood under your helmet it helps keep the water from running down into your suit. I wear the jacket in cool weather and it works well. I have a group of 50 riders and almost all wear the Frog Toggs.

So far I have resisted going with a rain suit. Not my Style! So here is what I have right now:

- Joe Rocket Ballistic 8 Jacket. This thing ROCKS! I have been in a heavy rain and 30 degree temps with this and NOTHNG got in. It also vents great.

- The pants: First Gear HT Overpants II. I wear a light rain layer underneath (Olympia) and again no rain or cold has penetrated. That's my story and I'm stickin to it! :D I had the Rocket Ballistic pants but they kinda sucked.

- Gloves: Alpinestars Apex Drystars. warm, protective and yes - waterproof!

When things get heavier I might just give a suit a try. I'm looking at the Tourmaster, but researching for now. Say tuned...
