• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Radio

When I first bought 2014 RT in July this year, the radio worked fine with key turned on. Found out about accessory mode, (press mode button as you turn off key). Now when I turn on key and try to listen to radio all I get is static and a faint station. If I go accessory mode static is gone and have a clear radio station. Dont use radio much, still if its there I would like it to work right.

Is the bike still under warranty?
If so: I'd let the dealer tackle it. nojoke

For the record: the reception on my bike's radio has always been non-existent. :banghead:
The dealership has had the radio out of the bike; they've checked all of the connections; they've even removed the antenna to clean the Loc-Tite off of the threads.
I'm just about down to either a bad antenna, or a bad unit...
I've got a 4 year factory warranty on mine, so I figure to replace the antenna for this next Season, and see what happens...

Good luck with yours!

Check any USB phone chargers you might have on the Spyder. These little chargers have inverter switching technology in them and they put out lots of RF hash from the AM to the FM band. If you do have one or more unplug them and see if that improves your reception. If that is your problem you can try an ferrite RF choke on both the input and output of the charger to see if that will reduce the interference, or try another brand of charger.

I did have a USB charger in the trunk plugged in. Took it out and tried it, still the same problem.

Did you check your antenna connection at the mast or the radio! I would start there! Let us know your findings! Good luck!

I checked at antenna base, made sure the threads were clean, the connections were tight including the ground. Also checked the radio itself, was surprised that it was connected directly to antenna base, no quick disconnect.

Lets look at the problem another way, I stated if the key is ON then there is static, in ACC mode no static, so something that is powered up in normal key ON mode and not powered in ACC mode must be causing the problem, I know that's a lot left but a place to start.
