• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Radio, CB, and GPS gone wonky

I can not get the radio controls to change channels, freqs, bands, nothing zippo. I was listening to XM radio, stopped for fuel, filled up, and when I went to set off again that's when the problems set in. The GPS sound doesn't work and every 14 seconds the GPS says it lost external power and will shut down in 30 seconds. It counts down to 26 and then comes back on, but does it again in 14 seconds. I am also getting a popping sound from somewhere under the back of the seat. Its like the sound you used to get on old sterios. The radio is stuck on the am band and no sound. I would appreciate any input before I take it to the dealer so at least I might possably have a better ides of what's wrong.

Check fuse F6 & make sure it is seated properly.
Also, check under the right hand passenger grip plastic and the connector going into the radio box

Yes, the audio unit ("stereo") is under the right passenger grip. It sounds like it is the source of the popping noise you mentioned coming from under the back of the saddle. If you're getting that kind of noise, I'd wonder if something isn't shorting out back there. Makes me think you might need to pull the power to it completely to prevent a possible catastrophic failure.

If I recall there is also a fuse back under the right rear tupperware too - may want to make sure that is seated in properly. Also - make sure the unit is in the cradle properly as that can also cause this sporadic power out condition.

mine may be different - now that I think about it I bought the 665 from BestBuy and the Canam mount and installed it myself so may have a fuse in back instead of the frunk.

I think you may have a loose power connection to your GPS . My GPS kept loosing power when I installed it following BRP's instructions, especially when I hit a bump or raised and lowered my seat. BRP supplies you with connectors that are solderless and you use a heat shrink gun to shrink the connector on the power leads. I replaced the BRP connectors with Posi-Lock connectors and haven't had a problem since.

This video supplied by Ken Miller will explain the install process and show the connections I'm talking about.

The GPS connection and location of the connector is around 2:39 into the video. At 3:39 into the video it discusses the power connection.

MISTERY SOLVED.

Took my bike to the dealer and they found the problem to be the multi function control on the left handlebar, and it wil be replaced under warranty. The part will be in this week and installed before SPYDER FEST!:clap::bowdown::ohyea::thumbup:

Back to the drawing board!

I had the Multifunction Switch on the left handlebar replaced, and all was right in the world! :2thumbs: My radio, GPS, etc all worked like they should. I got half way home and the problems started again :banghead: So back to the drawing board! :gaah:
