There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Radar detector question

Has anyone successfully installed a Valentine One radar detector in a Spyder audio/intercom system so that the alarm sounds coming from the Valentine are heared in the helmet speakers. I am seriously interested in buying a Spyder and am doing the research to see what is available and possible. I visited Cowtown yesterday and was very favorably impressed with the dealership and had my questions answered/explained in detail by Len, but I forgot to ask if they had actually installed a Valentine.
thanks
Andy

Valentine 1

I have a valentine 1 you need a remote kit to drive a speakerif it isn't wired into your helment it's worthless to have a detector I made a flat plate bracket with Velcro that I clamped to the little blank space on my handle bars the other option for hearing it is a blue tooth dangle plugged into the headphone out jack then pair with your system

Here's what I did to my Vision and my radar detector....Due to road noise and such it was cost prohibitive to try and wire in an audio source from my radar detector to my motorcycle audio. Instead, there is a MUCH SIMPLER solution.

Here you go: http://www.marcparnes.com/Visual_Alert.htm

It works GREAT and you can see it all times of the day and night!

radar detector

Thanks for all the tips, warnings and url,s and I may wind up using one of the options suggested, however what I really am looking for is the setup I now enjoy on my Gold Wing, that is the Valentine one, with the adapter from Valentine, is wired into the audio system on the Gold Wing and when the alarm goes off I hear the warning in the J&M headset in my helmet and thus alerted I look at the warning lights on the Valentine. The radar detector sound over rides any other sound source such as music from the AM/FM radio, iPod, CB radio and intercom communication between rider and corider.
Bob Denman, thanks for the warning, but your suggestion is just not an option.

Have you confirmed these rankings with your own personal research? :roflblack:

Top 8....

IMO, as a las Vegas resident, Nevada doesn't ticket near enough. Drivers here are atrocious. Every region has its own bad driving habits. And everyone brings their bad driving habits here. I know several bikers that stopped riding completely when they moved here because it was too dangerous here. Not to mention all the partiers who come here, get drunk and endanger everyone I the road. No. Nevada... Las Vegas at least... Doesn't ticket near enough. May be different up north. Come to think of it.. I did get a ticket up north coming back from Washington...

methinks my OP got hijacked by all this bs about speeding tickets. If anyone ever hooked up a Valentine to their Spyder communication setup, please let me know
