• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Race to the top!

The Pike's Peak race will be June 29th this year. All the pre-race stuff will be going the week before that and of the Spyder Owner's event in Durango.
I was thinking of riding my Spyder up Pike's Peak but it will be after the race day.
There is some sort of patch one can get for riding a motorcycle to the tops of high mountains. Does anyone know the organization that this is connected with?

The link below is of the record holder of the race in a cage. A really nice video. I was surprised to see that there are now guard rails in spots own the road up there. I guess they had to put them in when the Forest Service was sued into paving the road all the way up there. Because we all know that a dirt road is environmentally unfriendly.
Enjoy!

 I'm wringing-wet from THAT ride!
I thought that little "French Rocketship" might have needed a bit lower gear to pull him out of the hairpins better.
Either that; or he needed to drop it down another cog upon entry...

EDIT:
They might have added guardrails to keep from having extensive cleanups after this sort of thing happens...

Fun fun fun..!!

sorry we got no outside shots. Amazing ride reminds me of the ralley racing days back home difference being dirt roads and a lot of drifting...

When we made the Mile High Ride last year my 2012rts went into limp mod at 10000 feet. It did not shut down and I had full power all the way, made it to the top at 14270 ft. It did not go off untill I was below 10000ft. The wife 2010rss never went to limp.
Fun Ride

I've driven that road a time or two, first time as a teenager and was snowed on at the top in June!. Have never been on it on a bike. Will just have to do that some day...

Thanks for the post John!

CC Riders - you are correct, that is the link. I have both their 10 passes over 10K ft, and Mt Evans. :) just be prepared to wait till the following January to get your patch, as he orders them after the riding season is done so that he doesn't have left over patches.
