• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Blue Loctite has gotten me through mods on several motorcycles, and now my Spyder. That's all I use.

I'm going to be putting it in that center blank on the switch cluster. Got the project on my to-do board for maybe next week.

I'm still trying to visualize your bike with yellow dreadlocks hanging from it. :roflblack:

Vibra-Tite for me!

Loctite is okay, but I've found another product I prefer, Vibra-tite. High quality and made in the US.

I got a sample of Vibra-tite a couple of months ago, and I really like it. It doesn't run all over the place, and it smells just like that old bubble toy where you squeezed a blob onto the end of a thin straw and blew it up.

I especially like the fact that you can take it apart several times and not have to re-apply it. It also can speed installation - I apply it to all of the bolts and screws at one time, and they can sit and dry while you do the other parts of installing whatever.

YELLOW DREADLOCKS

I must see a picture with those cool yellow DREADS :roflblack:

I am new to the Spyder, leaving my 2003 1800S VTX behind. I have seen the word "Farkle" on the site - what does it mean? Learning about the Spyder web....

From the urban dictionary. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=farkle

farkle
accessory.

The word is generally accepted to mean a combination of "function" and "sparkle", hence, farkle.

Motorcycle enthusiasts may install accessories, called farkles (also spelled farkel), to customize their machine.
One source attributes the term to Pete Wells, the organizer of a 1997 Honda ST1100 rally

The term is well known in the sport touring community.

An enthusiast may be in the process of "farkling". The completed motorcycle would be all "farkled up". Radar detectors, Global Positioning System receivers, heated grips, and satellite radios are some of those farkles. Other accessories could be aftermarket seats, side and/or top cases or bar risers, which make the motorcycle more suitable for long miles.

"Farkle" is a word they use here to mean, "Mod". They also use words like "ryde" to mean "ride". It's something you'll get used to in time I guess.

That's some darn good explanations. Now I know - thanks! I feel like a new kid in school who is trying to figure how to make it through the day without saying or doing something that would get me taken to the boy's room for a swirlie. But, I can tell that this is a gracious bunch of ryders!
