• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Quick and Painless!

Wel, as usual we have strayed off topic. But a good exchange I think.

With varying mods NOT having issues, and not knowing exactly what the "Steering Update" does (which has to be much more than just steering) we are again left to guess as to why some are having problems.

Hey --- it was a thread about steering problems---- is it any wonder we veered off topic??? :roflblack:

Ah ha... I just talked to a TBR technician about the JB. The "intercept" of the O2 sensor data is, in fact, a true intercept. It eliminates the original O2 sensor data from hitting the ECM... the modified TBR signal is sent, instead, to prevent ECM errors.

Sooooooo... at least on the low end, the JB appears to do the same as Ken's modifier... it just enrichens the mixture. The upper end of the power band is modified by the user settings.

I think you are correct - especially since the TBR folks bought one of Ken's O2 mods - played with it for 30 days and returned it--- shortly before releasing their version for the Spyder.

And if you turn the JB to the 'off' settings then it should just pass the stock O2 signal thru--- I would think.

Ken has said that TBR bought one of his O2 sensors and then returned it after a while for a refund. Who knows....:dontknow:

Rode my Spyder again today and now I am sure it is running better than it ever has before.

On the ride home from the dealership it's mostly freeway and not too many opportunites to get it to pop out the exhaust.

But today I rode around town. It usually pops a fair amount. It still pops a little but not nearly as much as it did before.

Seems to run a bit better cold too.

Overall I am very pleased so far. I've got a little less than 100 miles on the update. I'll post again if anything changes.

Steering Recall is anything but Painless

I had the upgrade done last weekend along with a new, rear tire. (14K on bike) On the ride home I noticed hesitation , surging, and backfires between 3K and 4K under gentle or static throttle.(never had this before) Took it back to the dealer this weekend and had the software reloaded along with the Ground Wire upgrade. Even mentioned the TPS reset be done as well.

No change, bike is not running properly and the dealer will open a trouble ticket on Monday.

Has anyone had this problem and then had it corrected? I should have remembered "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I have started to notice the sputtering under static throttle between 3-4k also---god think I'm rarely running the RPMs that low----:doorag:

Going to increase my fuel pressure a bit and see if that helps--- if they actually leaned out the curve--- it should help.

Question is---why did BRP feel a need to lean things out?
