Like Lamont has already posted. We got our Spyders "Updated" today.
It was quick (very quick) and painless.
There were 2 bikes ahead of us in the "Fix-It" line. Don't know what was wrong with them but they were still sitting there when we left. So Alcoa Good Times got us in and out.
I have been very happy with Alcoa Good Times dealership. The service manager and the owner, and everyone else I've met there have been great people.
Anyway, I went for a quick stroll through the dealership. And by the time I got back I heard Lamont fire his Spyder up and ride it out of the service bay. Mine was already done! (I think my Parts Bike was the Canary for this one). It may have taken 20 minutes for both bikes.
You guys got Lamont all nervous about doing this upgrade. But it was a piece of cake.
One thing I noticed in the dealership was a big ad on the Spyder saying it qualified for the Stimulus Money/Rebate. I assume that is the Cash for Clunkers. I forgot to ask the owner when we talked to him.
Both the service manager and the owner said the only thing they are selling much of is the Spyder and they are selling well. They only have 2 left and one was sitting there with a "Sold" tag on it.
Lamont says he couldn't tell any difference. I'd say my Spyder is running smoother. Hard to describe. It was running fine when I took it in. Not sure about more power. But the power seems smoother. Maybe just wishful thinking.
The only other thing I noticed is I had a less decel popping on the ride home than I did on the ride out.
I'd recommend the "Fix". If you wait and you have problems you'll wish you'd gotten it done.
