• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Questions on GPS on RTs

Asking for a friend that is considering getting a RT. What brand and model of GPS comes as an option on the RT A&C or the RT-S? One dealer he has been talking to said it costs $1000 installed and another says it $1600 and installation is extra. The BRP website list's it for $1000.

I know that the Garmin Zumo 550 and 660 list for $650. 665 lists for $800. The 550 comes with kits for both bikes and autos as does the 660 & 665.

Does the dealer installed GPS, work only if the key is turned on? Or can it be used with the key off?

Thanks for any info.

Yes, it has a battery. As long as the battery is charged it will work with the bike off. You can also remove it and use it in your car.

You can get the Can-Am harness and have that installed or install it yourself and buy the 660 (or the 665 if you want the extras) seperate to save some money. There is nothing different except it has the dealer list and Can-Am splash screen already on it.

ZUMO

MY RT CAME WITH THE ZUMO INSTALLED AND YES IT DOES COME ON WITHOUT THE KEY BEING TURNED ON.....IT ALSO CAME WITH A HOOK UP TO BE ABLE TO USE IN YOUR CAR....EXCEPT THEY GAVE ME WRONG CHARGING CORD FOR THE CAR....
