• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Questions on 2021 RT Spyder

I have a 2019 RT and have traded it for a 2021 RT. Will pick it up this Friday. Can someone tell me is the battery located in the same place on the 2021 as the 2019. I have something's to hook direct to the battery. I also have a GPS to connect and want it to connect to a ternal that is hot only when the switch is on. Can anyone tell me where this might be? I don't like to cut into any wiring that can cause problems. I know there has been quite a lot of changes from 2019 to 2021.

Yes, it it in the same place - behind the rear wall of the front trunk. At least that's where it is on my wife's 2021 Sea to Sky. When I installed a Garmin 396 on her Spyder I tapped into the accessory power outlet behind the right side panel below and forward of the windscreen - it's switched power. Lamonster has a video detailing how to do that (and I posted a series of photos showing the same thing some months ago). The Garmin 396 on my 2015 RT-S is wired directly to the battery (which is also in the same location) although it was a little more complex.

Thanks for the information. I watch a video on the Lamonster Garage where the wire plug is at. Is it okey to tap into that wire or do you have to get a special plug?

I left the plug intact and used posi-taps on the wires near the plug and left the plug connected to the dummy socket.

If you use that dedicated GPS plug on the right side as Arion said (and it's a great idea), MAKE SURE YOU VERIFY +/-. There have been quite a few posts where the positive and negative were somehow switched from the factory.

I used crimping butt connectors (that sounds terrible!) to connect the wires, mostly because I had them readily at hand. Thus far no problems at all and it's been some time since the installation.

What is the big differences (why you would upgrade) from a 2019 to a 2021 RT Limited? I have a 2020 and want to know what I'm missing?

I think the 2020 is the same as the 2021. I have the 2019 and there is quite difference in the 19 and 20 & 21. I really can't tell you why I am trading there is nothing wrong with my 2019. I have 27,000 miles on it and do for a new rear tire, oil change with transmission filter and fuel filter. I feel they gave me a good price for my 2019. I just went ahead and traded.

If not too late, you should swap the sway bar back to oem and pull the wheel balancers.

I removed most all the extras except the sway bar. I wii purchase a new one. it is to big a job to exchange the sway bar.
