• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just a couple of questions. Don't have a Spyder; ride an '86 Concours now, but I'm always looking.
#1. What is DPS? Steering unit?
#2. Gas/fuel milage on 2008/2009 SE5's?
#3. Dealer network; good, bad or like any motorcycle shop?
#4. Shop manual or after market manual available for "do it yourselfers"?
#5. Valve adjustment interval? Hydraulic? Shim type? Screw type adjuster?
#6. Difficulty for oil changes?
Thanks for any replys. Hopefully the economy will turn around and I can upgrade.

#1. What is DPS? Steering unit?

It is the electric power assist steering unit for the Spyder.

#2. Gas/fuel milage on 2008/2009 SE5's?

That's a bit tough. There are people getting in the 20s and people getting in the low 40s. Really depends on how hard you ride. I'd say overall in the 30s is a fair middle ground.

#3. Dealer network; good, bad or like any motorcycle shop?

Smaller dealer network in size than many other brands. Dealer service is like other brands, there are some good dealers and some bad dealers.

#4. Shop manual or after market manual available for "do it yourselfers"?

Yes the service manual is available from the dealer, as well as some people have gotten ones on ebay fairly cheap.

Some things a do it yourselfer can't do, since there is a computer in the Spyder and a multitude of sensors so you'll need to take it in and have it hooked up to BUDS once in a while....
