• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question

Seems to me..!!

it should fit fine. Don't think they changed the mounting on the RS/RSS's. The ST's and RT's are a different story. Looks like a nice set up. I have the MSR with the flip up extension...

It will fit. I also have a 2013 RS. I put a MadStad windshield on my Spyder and love it. It is fully adjustable and comes in many sizes.

Thanks, folks. It didn't take long to decide a taller windshield would be needed. My crystal ball says the supplier's phone will be ringing Monday morning!:roflblack: The BRP hard bags are on order as well. Looking forward to many, many happy miles. Thanks again and ride safely, CH

The bags were my wife's idea and I'm not protesting! This time of year, a shorty windshield just doesn't cut it, the wind, that is. I want a CB but will tackle that later on. I ride with my son who rides a 2005 ST 1300 with a J&M CB. We ride some overnighters and like to stay in touch. I still have the Goldwing with a CB, but I want my wife included and she is terrified of 2 wheels. Ride safely, CH

Canned ham if you have handle bar risers or plan to I'd ask questions. I've seen some shields in that style that will not have enough clearance.

There is more to an effective windshield on the Spyder than just the height. You might want to consider the Madstad windshield, or at least their bracket. Adjusting can be a pain, but it can make the windshield work where fixed ones will not.

MADSTAD !!!!!!

The Madstad is the way to go it can be adjusted up & down forward and back
to get it just about any height and tilt you could ever want.
I have 2 of them one on the Spyder RS and one on my Honda ST1100

Thanks, everyone for all the replies. The shield was already on order, but I realized I hadn't called the source to verify the fit in advance. The source was closed at the time that fact occurred to me. If this shield doesn't work out for one reason or another, I'll be open to considering other options. Right now, the bars seem to be well within comfortable reach, but I've only ridden a few miles at a time so far. Right now, it's kinda' cool for Alabama. The Spyder is an amazing machine and I'm looking forward to a lot of miles and smiles:thumbup:! Ride safely, CH
