• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question to the ones that have traded-up their Spyders...

Has anyone of you gotten "credit" from the milage on your previous Spyder(s) from BRP milage pin program? I got my 5K pin, traded my 2010 with 12K, the next one would be 25K and I have put over 3500 on my 2013. I am hoping to do 25K Spyder Riding miles between both units by the end of this year or by the begining of next year's riding season.

I have sent an email to BRP this morning (no telling when I will get an answer), but I wanted to hear input from owners who have upgraded their units...

I know there was some controversy about this a few years back, but cannot remember what the outcome was. :dontknow:

I never submitted for any of the pins although I was planning on submitting when I hit 100,000K and I was so close (95,400K) when I traded mine in.

Another interesting note is they use miles in the US for these pins, so they won't actually give you the 100K pin until you ryde 100K in miles.

True, but they require a picture of your odometer and do not have a section to explain that you had 12,000 miles on one and 13,000 miles on this new one. I think that is where the issue may be. :dontknow:

True... but I do have the dealer's statement with the millage when I sold it to them...

That could help if there is a way to get the information into BRP's system. I don't know if that is possible, but we should find out when you get a reply to your email message.

I am hoping they can do it, especially with how many owners have been trading up recently.

It appears that they look at the mileage on the :spyder2: and not the mileage claimed to have been driven by the rider. I traded off my 2008 with 23.5K--so no 25K mileage pin there. I have 30K on my 2010 and have not claimed any mileage pins at either 5K or 25K on that one.

I tried to claim a mileage pin on the 2009 Spyder at 5K--but BRP would not even recognize our registration. The site said there was already a :ani29: registered at that location. The last time I talked with BRP, they said that was an issue they were working on. I never got a resolution, and don't really care. I passed on my only BRP pin (5K) to a fellow member on the stie. I use Cat Specialties mileage patches.

You can buy mileage patches from Cat Specialties (a site sponser). That is good enough for me.

:agree: And I've seen CAT's patches. I might go that route, but the pin from BRP makes it more "legit" since I don't think CAT Specialties ask for milage pics:roflblack:

Unless your like me and bought your spyder used with 97 miles on it. took it to the dealer to get the rest of the warranty switched to my name , which they did, but they never cha nged the registration with BRP to me instead fo the previous owner. SO I have never gotten the gas cap upgrade and can't unitl i jump through hoops to send everything to BRp to show that I am the owner of the spyder and not the original purchaser and the dealer won't help me at all. :yikes:

I'd find another dealer since they are the ones that register YOU with the corresponding VIN number with BRP. I didn't buy neither :spyder2: used, so I haven't had that problem.

:agree: I like what CAT has, but the BRP seal of approval on the whole matter just seems more...binding! ;)

Does this mean that since I am not official, and have not been approved by the committee, that I will have to attend a depatching ceremony to have my 20 spyders owned, and my 2,000,000 :spyder2: miles driven patches removed? :roflblack:

Hey! That was supposed to be our secret! :roflblack:

In the back of the Owner's Manual there is a page for transferring ownership. Give that a try. Good luck

I was told they were doing that when they transferred the warranty to me and would have never known if not for the Gas cap recall on the Rs. I happen to call about it and was told I was not the registered owner with BRP. I guess the other guy got the Gas cap in the Mail and I'm not going to him after 3 years and aslking for it.
