• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Question for military members

I'm in the Army Reserve. I don't live near any posts, so I don't have DoD registration decals on my vehicle windshields. I'm heading to Ft. Gordon in a few months and will be there 18 weeks. If I take my Spyder, I suspect I'll want to get one so I don't get hassled every time I come on post.

I'm reluctant to put it on a polycarbonate windshield, because I don't know how difficult it would be to come off. What are my options when it comes to where the stickers are mounted?

Thanks,
Joe

I don't know what your requirements are or what size your stickers are but we have to have stickers on our vehicles for work. I didn't want mine in a real conspicuous place but it has to be seen. It is just the right size to go on the back of my clutch reservoir. Good luck with whatever you have to do.

I don't think you'll have a problem with it on your windshield...you can always scrape it off later, without scratching the heck out of it.

Whenever I go on base, I just show my ID, but I don't go too often so it's not a big deal for me...the stickers are easier...

NAS Pensacola.

What are my options when it comes to where the stickers are mounted?
Thanks,
Joe

I put my stickers on the black plastic area just under the windscreen vent. Had my glasses on a bit croocked so the decals are slanted. Everything sticks EXCEPT the NAS Pensacola decal, it fell off within a week. In the past I have removed others from similar material with rubbing alchol.

Sticker

I almost got by not having one until I went to the Navy base because the Air Force did away with them. I placed mine near the shifter on my bike and they are ok with it but any black area should work. I would not put it on my windshield because it's not a car type material and if some base supper cop scrapes it off they might scratch it.

I fabricated a small plate and bent it in the middle. Then I mounted it to the two lower windshield mount screws. Leave the rubber washers between the plate and the windshield. I know you are not supposed to mount to a removable plate however I've always done this on my bikes without being hassled.

I put mine on the belt guard. Didn't put in on the windshield since i swapped out the sport for the touring in the winter. And didn't want to put it on any painted surface, just in case.

Not sure about other bases but in the Navy, you can't get a sticker for on base until you take the course. It is a requirement, just like the vest is. Not sure how much wiggle room they give you since it is a spyder. They will give you a temp tag but again, not sure they do that for motorcycle folks. Just call and ask to talk to the front gate peeps. Make sure you get names..lol.

NO COURSE REQUIRED FOR SPYDER/NAVY

I went through this with my Navy Base Security Department. They tried to say that I needed to update my motorcycle course before getting a base sticker. I wrote to the Navy Safety Office and they said the SPYDER is exempt but a course somewhere off base or when available is recommended. I took the instruction with me the second try and didn't have a problem getting my decals. Check out

sponsored courses where available. I put my sticker on the grove ledge (left side) under the trunk. Hope this helps all you Navy gals and guys.

I'm retired and I put my sticker on the rear fender bracket, left side, just above the swingarm. I put it there because it is metal and if I need to scrape it off (With a plastic scraper) it won't damage anything.:2thumbs:
