There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Question concerning "Ride On" Tire Protection

Questions

New member
First of all I would like to thank "Lemonster" for using his name in getting my 10% discount for this item. (I saved +$7.00) I ordered and received four bottles. My question is do I remove ALL my Tire Weights prior to putting this substance in my tires..????? Some say yes and others say no so I'm a little confused... They factory recommends that I leave the weights on new tires. I have about 3,400 miles on my 2012 RT so I don't consider these new tires. My bike is stored for the winter but I did check my rims and I do see weights on them...!! Waiting for warmer weather up here in N.E.
Thanks for your responses.....

I spoke with tech support and they instructed me to leave weights on. After the tires wear out and if you have a lot of weight, you may notice a bit of unbalance. If that happens, remove the weights at that time.

:agree: They [ride- on] even states that on their web site.

My dealer wouldn't try to balance my front wheels knowing I had the Ride On in there. Upon the suggestion of another on this site, I went to Canton Tire in Canton, GA and they balanced my tires for $20. That included removing and re-installing the wheels. I had them put the GlowRider parts in a Baggie. They needed a battery change anyway.

UH OH ... Did I Mess Up by ....

Leave the weights.....

... removing all the weights?:hun: I only did so after seeing, in at least two other threads, that some leave them and some take them off (even Lamont has done both with good results). There were no weights in the left front, about 3 inches on the right front and about 4 inches on the rear. Went for a good ride after and it took about a mile for the thumps to leave the front, rear took longer ... almost 3 miles. Did about a 30 mile loop of twisty roads with a good range of speed from 40 to 70 and all is rock solid now.

But ... based on this thread, now I'm worried that I should have left them on (Spyder and tires have about 2100 miles on them).

If it is smooth, don't worry about it.

I added ride on to my tires at about 8,000. They had a tiny wobble since new and the ride on couldn't smooth the fronts out at about 50 mph.
Talked with ride on folks and they said to take the weights off. Problem solved. When the rear tire was replaced, took off the rear weights and everything is fine.

I bought another set of take off wheels and left the weights on and the balance is perfect on all wheels.

So, if one way doesn't work, try the other. Ride on is great stuff.
