There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Question about the bouncing fuel gauge...for those that replaced their gauge

On my longest fill, I rode with the needle almost 1/4" below empty--but it was almost ready to bottom out. Not recommended that you try this. 184 miles/5.8 gallons. Another reason I went to the digital gauges.

I also use the trip meter and trust that the most. Mentioned above, in an earlier post--I always zero it at fill up time, even though I am now using the digital gauges.

I also had the bouncing fuel gauge having it replaced once and the new gauge started to bounce, Finally gave up
and disconnected them for the much better digital gauges in the cluster
Replaced Fuel and Temp gauge with a Voltmeter and a Digital Clock

I have the Zumo 660 GPS Installed on my Spyder SE5 2010 Model - The zūmo 660 also comes standard with a digital fuel gauge so you can keep track of how many miles you have left before it’s time to get gas.

I have set the tank level at 150 Miles with the low fuel icon set to come on when I have done 125 miles - This gives a petrol pump icon on the screen and if its touched it will list the nearest Petrol Station to your current locaton
I find most of the time the cluster low fuel light will also come on around the same time

I therefore have a warning when my fuel level is getting low along with information to guide me to the nearest source of fuel
(Best of both worlds)

I'd have to say Erags had me stressing out today when we rode our Spyders from Pensacola to Jackson MS...at one point my fuel gauge had the needle on the lowest bar of the "E" (bouncing even lower at times) and he kept insisting we could make the Sam's Club "up the road a little bit." :gaah: I was approaching 150 miles on my trip meter at the time and we kept hitting red lights. Visions of running out of gas were flying through my brain (along with thoughts of killing him if I did!)...but he was right...we made it without sputtering out of fuel! When I asked why we bought the 1 gal gas can for the saddlebag (on his workbench at home) he told me that was for when we are riding in areas where we don't know where the next gas station is, not for rides when we know where they are but might not make it to it! Male logic! :gaah:

Cheryl,
I really needed a good laugh this morning...this post still has me chuckling...on to the bouncing fuel gauge. My spyder did that early last year on a couple of our rydes. Then it started working fine. Tell Ed I said hi....btw I'm on the boat caught out Jan 7th off on Feb 28th. Don't let Ed eat up all your moon pies.....Love always....Randy

Randy, I'm glad that my antics with Ed have helped buoy your spirits while you are on the river. We miss seeing your smiling face. Hope we can manage a group ride soon after you get back home. Your advice on the moon pies is a little too late! :yikes: Love, Cheryl

Half done with BRP's update (bulletin #2012-12) . That half being the BUDS update.....that alone made a noticeable improvement(60% less bounce). The replacement fuel gauge has arrived at my dealer and once it's installed I'll update. Best guess...I think once the new gauge is in place...it'll be a total fix.

New fuel gage installed. "0" bounce.

Note: If anyone opts to have their's updated, make sure your dealer orders the correct bezel style - chrome or black.
