There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Question about fault codes. 2013 RT

Hi
Had the check engine light come on. The bike did not go into " limp " mode.
I was trying to see the code, but when I push mode/set/turn signal at the same time, the screen just goes
blank. The bike starts and seems to run fine, but I can't get it into the dealer for at least a few weeks.
Is there a scenario where there is no fault code?

Thanks
Grant

Hi Doug
Yes, pushing straight in. I push all three at the same time, that is correct I thought.
Also, does the engine have to be running for this?
Thanks for the reply

BfromLA told me to push and hold mode AND settings buttons, then blinker (as in cancelling) and a code will be displayed. It works really well. Thanks Brandon.

if the screen was blank no fault ! most likely a computer burp as someone has mentioned before ! keep us informed if you get a flash in the screen again ! ( did you get turn signal and the neutral on the dash to flash at the same time of the check engine ? ) had a 2012 do this couple times ! ( pulled key out and waited for 5 minutes some say it doesn`t work some do ---- it can`t hurt to try  )

Just wanted to double check. Yes, occasionally folks who do all the right things say they come up with a blank screen. Don’t know why. Remembering that you can only pull up a code when it’s an active code, and the fault condition must be present at the time for the code to be active, the next time it happens just pull off to a safe location, keep the engine running and try to pull the code again. If you did that already and got the blank screen I’m afraid I’m no help. If the check engine light is on, there’s supposed to be a code set. It should show up.

You can also....

:agree: you can also come to a stop and hit the kill switch but leave the ignition on to get the active codes. Once you turn off the ignition switch the code is stored and can only be retrieved with the BUDS system...
