• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Putting together an @ home tool box for the RT

Those are not for the glovebox. They hold the pegs that fit into the grommets that attach the upper Tupperware panel. They should not be loosened or removed! The pegs are angled, and very difficult to get adjusted correctly.

You see. It's a good thing I'm posting what seems stupid to some, but are only limited knowledge, honest comments, by a poster who only knows what he knows and who happily learns something new everyday and, I certainly appreciate the help!!

:gaah: I am shocked and surprised at all of you... :lecturef_smilie: NOBODY mentioned getting the proper " Barley-Pop" for the 'fridge and making sure that it's the right temperature... :roflblack:

It's in the garage fridge.....how long are your arms???????

If you play around with Vehicles long enough sooner or later you'll find a use for a tool you haven't touched in years.
Back in 1971 i had to rebuild a VW engine and needed a 36 mm socket, It sat in my tool cabinet never to be used again until 2008.
There is no such thing as an extra Tool , Just ones that you haven't found a need for, Yet.;)

Prying Tool

Some time ago, there was mention of a special prying tool made of plastic or polymer that several people had found valuable in working on a spyder. I searched and have not been able to find those posts. Anyone remember what that thing was called?

I believe they talked about buying it at an auto parts store.

Carling tool?
Attached is a photo of the Carling tool which does two jobs. The U-shaped end removes the actuator, or rocker part of the switch. The other end gets shoved down the narrow side of the switch, (you need 2 of these tools, one for each side). The switch or switch blank is then removed from the top. The tools work together to compress the catches which are holding the switch, or blank, in position.

Thats not the one I was remembering that was supposed to be helpful for removing panels and doing body work. Any more ideas?
