I recently posted a thread "almost there" where my little nephews were trying to ryde the spyder. They were out there with the wife, who took the picture, but I figured all was fine and they had a good time.
My mistake was I did not check the machine after they came back into the house. Well I got all dressed and prepped to go out for a ryde and turned the key and to my surprise I got nothing...total blank...:yikes:. So as I look over the controls I see the little ones had turned on the driving light and they were on over the weekend while they visited. Ah well...popped the seat hooked up the trickle charger and left it for another day. Next day the wife said let's ryde...can't say no to that..
hyea: So we gear up and head out...as we are cruising along the back roads I notice the clock said 23:34, the temp is 32° and I am doing 140...:yikes: Little cool for San Diego and a bit over any exsisting speed limit. Well let it go till we got to our destination. So after a nice visit and rest we head out but it was bugging me so I figured I would stop and reset. Somehow I hit the kill switch before I reached a rest spot so had to restart on the fly at which point I got the check engine light and warning....Well pulled over turned her off, then back on, reset the clock, speedo, temp etc and fired her back up. Engine light was off and all was well again. Great ryde back home...
I mention this more as an example of how sometimes the Nanny can make a call from confusing signals, in this case dead engine while still in motion and attempting a restart while rolling. I have had it from a sudden emergency stop with an engine stall...So when you get a check engine signal pull over check for codes re start and if the signal is gone and does not come back within a few miles then the nanny had a hiccup... and I go round and round with my nanny...:roflblack:
