• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pure Speculation

This is just me thinking, but I think maybe there will be an ST someday with the ACE 1330 engine in it. I know the F3 kind-of muddied the waters in this regard but I think a 1330 powered ST would be a great idea. The configuration of the twin radiators on the F3 to the sides is why the frunk is so tiny and I would hope they would configure them more like the ones on the RT so as to have a large frunk-space. This is purely speculation on my part so take it with a grain of salt.

As they say...

talk is cheap and anything can be done on paper. Your probably right. I would much prefer a biger high rpm twin. On the ST they could do it easily and keep trunk space.... I'll tell them...:roflblack::roflblack:

I have been thinking/wishing for the same thing. I purchased my 2014 RT for the engine and transmission more than anything else. If I could get that drive train in a ST package (since they want put the 1700 vmax motor in one), I would be on it in a minute:thumbup:.

I too would like the 1330 engine in a ST. With the bigger rear sprocket from the F3. On the practical side the 1330 engine will fit on the ST frame but will not fit inside the current body work. This I found out talking with a BRP district sales rep. To stuff in the 1330 and to fit the other under the hood bits. It would make the ST body panels significantly wider.

To make the 1330 Triple fit and call it an ST, you need an RT front half and an RS back half,
Not sure if the look would be great to be honest. And really wouldn't look too much like a Sport Tourer
Or imagine an RT without all of the wrap around storage etc...

My opinion is, you probably wont see an ST with the 1330 Triple.

The fact they offer a "touring" version of the F3 with similar components (side bags) to the ST, I am thinking probably not.

I have always thought of the ST as a RT without the top trunk. Actually, I like that. Don't use the top trunk much, but like the idea of a passenger backrest.

Also wondering if the ST version is long for this world. Have no sales figures to rely on, just speculation on my part also.

Narrower Engine maybe??

An inline parallel twin using the same bore & stroke as the 1330 would yield an 887cc motor. A slightly larger bore or longer stroke or both could easily get it to 1000cc so the power could at least rival the current v-twin motor but be narrower than the triple. That might make for a slimmer looking bodywork out front. Once again this is wild speculation only.
