• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Prototype NBV Floorboards

Looked all over for some floorboards that I might fit onto the NBV's. Existing pegs just didn't give me enough support. When I couldn't find anything I decided to make some out of wood to find out if it was something worthwhile. Took a piece of 3/4 by 3" board, bent a piece of metal approx 90 deg to screw on bottom and bolt into the NBV brackets. Works so well I might check with a machine shop to see what they will charge to make some out of metal. Or I might not do anything, other than repaint the wood ones. Not pretty, but functional.

Like your thinking..!!

if it is not available then make it. Seems to be a lot of that going on here. This is good cause it helps those that can't..suggest you cut the pattern out of diamond plate (chrome or aluminum or anodized black) would look nice...

Thanks Gene. I'm on a budget and can't afford several hundred dollars for these things and couldn't find anything I liked anyway. When WX warms a bit I'll check out a couple of milling shops in my area to see what they would charge to cut some out for me. The most critical is getting the attachment plate bent to the right angle and then either welding it on the underside of the plate or even bolting it on. Bolting would allow me more leeway to get the plate located exactly where I want it and using carriage bolts which have round heads they wouldn't protrude up enough to be bothersome. It would need a heel stop welded on the bottom. I'll have to check out the steel and aluminum plates at Lowes; might be something there I can work with myself.

I used a nice piece of oak I had to make 2 for my GS. Cost me nothing. Fortunately I'm not too fussy about the looks, just functionality

Oldgoat: good idea. If I can't find/fashion metal to suit me, I'll prob go with oak as its a much harder wood and would undoubtedly be sturdier in the long run.
