• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

pros and cons

ok everyone what are the pro's and con's of the kool metal air intake system on a rt. do you need to pipe air to the area of the filter so it doesn't use all the hot air from under the body. what do you think

I don't have one yet, but in my research we gain a lot of room inside which can only help airflow. I don't think most people have added any sort of additional air pipe or anything, but at least a couple have. I think Teddy and Dave had the best setup. They completely removed the air box and resonator and added a bilge blower onto one of the stock air pipe pieces. Sounds like it really cools the inside down when switched one. I plan on doing that to mine that I might add an automatic thermal switch so I don't have to remember to turn it on and off or fiddle with it while riding.

Removing the airbox will probably free up some space underhood; that'll give the air more room to circulate freely...
BIG Pro!! :2thumbs:

Big pro - it makes it possible to access the front plug (and plug wire) without being a contortionist.

with two brothers exhaust dont notice any more noise unless full throttle acceleration over 6500 RPM, at that point i dont mind hearing the intake honk... you decide if thats pro or con.

Con - if you dont install a blower, intake temps could be elevated over stock setup if you let the spyder sit and idle for prolonged periods in hot weather. (or get stuck in traffic) Plan to install a blower on ours yet this winter.

Wasn't a member on here making a similar kit? But at a heap less money, I remember reading that on here somewhere seems like it was in the final stages.... :dontknow:
