• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Project - Midland CB, SR10, Spyder's PTT

keep going

I am interested in installing the Midland in the trunk, especially if you can get the SPyder PTT working. I have a Yeasu FT 10R, but not sure I want to put it in or not. Bryan wb7nxc

Up on the dash/handlebar with the SR10.

This project will enable the following:
Midland 75-822 CB.
Sena SR10 which allows your Bluetooth headsets to work with a 2 way radio.
Custom cable I make which plugs into the Spyder's radio.

Now I have some question for folks as preferences for the setup.

Where would you mount the CB itself if you have a choice?

Options I am thinking of:
In the trunk with the SR10.
Up on the dash somewhere with the SR10.

Thanks,
Bob

SR10 & SM10 Together

I sent a PM to Bob (finless) a few months back about BOTH units working together with a 20S.
Here is the OFFICIAL response from SENA which I have not previously seen as a post.

Hi,
Yes you can have both SM10 and SR10 paired to the 20S.
When you pair the SR10 to the 20S, use the 20S pairing procedure called Second Mobile Phone Pairing. Go to the user guide below on page 17, section 5.5 Pairing with SENA SR10

Having mounted my Garmin on the dash, the space between the handlebars is now open and I hope to mount the Midland 75-822 there along with the associated attachments for blue tooth. Waiting for the controls from Motorcycle Dave. Then I can get into a little more. Any suggestions would be welcome. I am guessing that since Dave never mentioned using the poem ppt button that the issue is dead and there is no way to use the poem ppt button.

Awesome idea. Still have an old one from trucking day`s. Only problem now is unless you can make it totally hands free, ( new law with bite ) $287 bucks and three demerit points on your license. Should be lot`s of folk`s paying huge amounts of cash in fines and then losing their licence. Problem with that is now you have unlicensed people driving around which probably have no insurance because they can`t afford it due to all the tickets. Pity the people that will eventually suffer from this (innocent folk injured by the folk with no license/insurance ).

By pass the sr10 and ptt

Just throwing something else out there. Has anyone thought about using a lapel mike like the Cobra PMRSM two pin mike which comes with an earphone jack and connecting the smh 10 to the mike via a cable for audio? You would need a cable with a 2.5 pin on one end and a 3.5 pin on the other end. Do not know if it would work and of course you'd have to use the mike to transmit if it did.
